Rosie Perez

 Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez June 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakout role as Tina in Do the Right Thing (1989) was followed by White Men Can't jump (1992). Perez's performance in Fearless (1993) brought her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, among other accolades. It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado(2000) and Pineapple Express(8) and Birds of Prey(2020) are among her most recognizable film roles.





 Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and also received an Emmy nomination for her role in The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has been in stage productions on Broadway including The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. In the 18th season of the show she also served as co-hosting ABC's talkshow The View.





 Childhood and early life



 Perez was born in Brooklyn's Bushwick on September 6, 1964. She was married to Lydia Perez, a merchant maritime seaman, and Ismael Serano. [3][4][55 Lydia Fontanez and her husband, Reyes, was her mother. She was born October 13, 1939 in Humacao. Her father came from Aguadilla (Puerto Rico). Her mother was married to a man 20 years older than her, Arturo Perez. After an affair with Serrano, her mother had already five children. Perez was born at the closed Greenpoint Hospital located in Brooklyn's Greenpoint neighborhood.





 Perez is one of ten children who were born by her mother. Rosie as well as her siblings grew up in Bushwick at the time that their mother was held in jail. While in prison her mother gave birth to her second daughter. After being cared for by her aunt, she ended up in group homes and foster care. She was often separated from her siblings. She was put into a foster home for children and was in foster care New York until she reached the age of eight. From the age of twelve, she was legaly considered as a ward in New York. Her mother and aunt regularly visited her, as did her father once unsuccessfully tried to take her custody.
